Position purpose:
The position for the College of Education provides shared support in academic program coordination, student advising, course scheduling, and assessment initiatives, working in collaboration with faculty, staff, and leadership. In addition, the position holds primary responsibility for state teacher licensure processes, ensuring full compliance with licensure requirements and related reporting.
This role contributes to compliance with accreditation standards, supports faculty and student success, and assists in the effective planning and execution of academic programs. By fostering collaboration and maintaining systems that promote student progress, program quality, and data-informed decision-making, the position plays an integral role in the ongoing success of the College of Education.
Essential Functions:1. Assessment (25%):
Coordinate the collection, analysis, and reporting of data for accreditation purposes (e.g., CAEP, state licensure requirements).
Assist with preparing and submit accreditation and compliance reports to state and national agencies.
Assist in the development and review of academic curricula to ensure alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
Maintain databases (i.e., Lumivero, Banner, Argos, Sales Force, TN Compass, etc...) for academic, advising, scheduling, and assessment data, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
2. Scheduling (15%):
Work with associate dean to develop and maintain the semester course schedule.
Coordinate room assignments and ensure timely communication of schedules to faculty and students.
3. Management (10%):
Recruit, assist in hiring, and train student workers and graduate assistants to support the College of Education.
Supervise and manage student workers and graduate assistants, assigning tasks and monitoring performance to ensure quality and efficiency in collaboration wtih COE administration.
Maintain schedules and workflows for student workers to ensure seamless daily operations.
Assist with the annual scholarship process for undergraduate and graduate students.
4. Academic Support (15%):
Provide guidance to change of majors and transfer students regarding course selection, program requirements, and academic policies.
Assign academic advisors to students based on program needs, advisor expertise, and student preferences when appropriate.
Assist Clinical Director with partnership and field experience.
5. Licensure (25%):
Manage and verify all documentation required for initial, additional, and advanced Tennessee teacher licensure applications.
Ensure compliance with Tennessee Department of Education (TNDOE) licensure policies, regulations, and timelines.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of licensure requirements and communicate changes to faculty, staff, and candidates.
6.
Strategic Initiatives (10%):
Assist in the coordination of special projects and initiatives related to academic quality, assessment, advising, and scheduling.
Contribute to the strategic initiatives for the College of Education.
