Role Description

This is a part-time (5-15 hours), in-person / zoom independent contractor position for an Academic Support/Executive Function Tutor based in Portland, OR. The role involves planning/conducting 1:1 tutoring sessions geared at assisting students with executive function (organization, managing grades, self-advocacy, study skills, etc.). As the academic support role includes managing multiple courses, the ideal candidate will have proficiency (or willingness to acquire proficiency) in a diverse range of subjects at the middle school and early high school levels, including Social Studies, Writing/English, Math, and/or Spanish. Key responsibilities include creating tailored lesson plans, providing clear instruction, tracking students' progress, and communicating with parents clearly and often. We welcome candidates who are patient, engaging, warm, and flexible.

Required Qualifications

• Extensive Teaching / Tutoring Experience
• Experience working with students with ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism, and other learning disabilities
• Professional Zoom Account / Online Teaching Proficiency
• Master's degree in Education, or a related field
• Excellent Communication skills for explaining concepts and engaging with students
• Ability to work on-site in SW Portland, OR

Preferred Qualifications

• Executive Function coaching experience
• SAT/ACT English/Reading Teaching Experience
