Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Low Voltage Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing low voltage systems across various commercial and industrial sites. Your expertise will ensure the seamless operation of critical communication and security systems, contributing to the safety and efficiency of our clients’ infrastructure. Duties
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage systems including CCTV, fiber optic cabling, Ethernet networks, access control systems, and burglar/intrusion systems
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installations and repairs
- Perform fiber splicing and cable management for network installation projects in data centers and other facilities
- Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other specialized equipment to ensure precise connections and system integrity
- Conduct field service visits to diagnose issues, perform repairs, and optimize system performance for clients
- Collaborate with team members to plan installations according to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and client specifications
- Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, system configurations, and service reports for record-keeping and future reference
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Low Voltage Technician or Service Technician working with telecommunication systems, network installation, or electrical systems
- Strong knowledge of computer networking including LAN (Local Area Network), Cisco routers, Juniper equipment, Ethernet cabling (Cat5/Cat6), and network protocols
- Hands-on experience with CCTV systems, fiber splicing, telephony (including Avaya), VoIP systems, and telecommunication infrastructure
- Familiarity with schematics, electrical wiring standards (NEC), and safety protocols for low voltage installations
- Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently; familiarity with power tools required for cabling and equipment installation
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional approach to client interactions on-site
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel for field service assignments
- Additional skills such as data center experience, IT knowledge, Juniper networking equipment familiarity, or equipment repair experience are highly desirable
- Should be familiar with systems such as DMP, Lenel, Bosch, etc.
