Founded in 1953, Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) located in scenic Upstate NY is a multi-campus College with locations in Troy and Malta New York. HVCC offers more than 80 degree and certificate programs in three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). Accessibility Instructional Designer

Overview:
The successful candidate will demonstrate a record of effective faculty, staff, and student training and support in the LMS environment, instructional technologies, and innovation in accessible materials and digital content design and delivery. They will be expected to keep current with accessibility regulations and guidelines, as well as new technological developments in the field of online, hybrid, and web-enhanced education technologies and methodology.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Distance/Online Education, Instructional Design, Educational Technologies, Assistive Technologies, or other related disciplines. Expertise in the Learning Management Systems (D2L Brightspace preferred), including familiarity with basic end user LMS System Administration. Demonstrated skills in multimedia and web authoring tools. At least 2 years of demonstrated training and/or staff development experience in instructional technologies and pedagogy. Demonstrated knowledge of accessibility standards and guidelines, including UDL principles, WCAG, ADA, and Section 508. Proficiency with assistive technologies (e.g., screen readers and captioning tools) for varying disability needs. Ability to employ testing methodologies using assistive technology tools. Demonstrated organizational, conceptual and problem-solving/troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a tightly integrated unit. Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills. Effective public speaking, presentation and listening skills.

The Accessibility Instructional Designer reports to the Director for Distance and Online Learning or his/her desinee and performs the following duties:
This is a 12-month, Full-Time position with a salary range of $60,000-$62,000.
