Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting our account management efforts, fostering strong relationships with clients, and contributing to business development initiatives. This position requires excellent communication skills, a knack for negotiation, and the ability to analyze data effectively.

An Account Assistant is mainly responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the accounting team, ensuring smooth financial operations and accurate record keeping.

Responsibilities

  • Key Responsibilities of an Account Assistant
  • Financial Record Keeping
  • Maintain and update financial records, ledgers, and journals.
  • Ensure accuracy of data entry for invoices, receipts, and payments.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable
  • Process vendor invoices and employee reimbursements.
  • Prepare and send customer invoices, follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Reconcile supplier statements and customer accounts.
  • Bank & Cash Management
  • Assist in preparing bank reconciliations.
  • Handle petty cash transactions and ensure proper documentation.
  • Payroll & Expense Support
  • Assist in payroll preparation by providing relevant data.
  • Verify staff expense claims and reimbursements.
  • Reporting & Analysis
  • Prepare basic financial reports (income, expenses, cash flow).
  • Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Compliance & Documentation
  • Ensure proper filing and safekeeping of financial documents.
  • Assist with audits by preparing necessary schedules and documents.
  • Communication & Coordination

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Tally, Xero) is desirable.
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving with a focus on achieving results.
