Account Executive - Automotive Industry

Do you have a knack for creating compelling content and growing social media followings with a traditional PR background? Are you able to confidently pitch a story to a journalist and content creators? Do you have a love for cars, trucks, motorcycles, or an outdoor and adventure enthusiast?

If so, Kahn Media is seeking a talented Account Executive to join our award-winning team. This position is hybrid-remote and open to candidates local to the Charlotte Metro area.

As an Account Executive, you will work under the guidance of a Senior Account Executive or Account Supervisor, but will also take ownership of client relationships, participate directly in client meetings, and lead day-to-day PR and social media initiatives. You will be responsible for developing and executing strategies, securing media placements, managing content calendars, attending events, and reporting on results. This role is ideal for someone with 1.5 - 2 years of PR experience who wants to merge their communications skills with a passion for the automotive and outdoor lifestyle industries. (everything from social influencer outreach to creating posts to coordinating print publications)

Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop and execute comprehensive PR and social media strategies for multiple clients
• Draft press releases and pitch story ideas to automotive, lifestyle, and related media outlets
• Create and manage social media content calendars and campaigns
• Draft and schedule posts for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, and X
• Build and maintain relationships with journalists, influencers, and industry partners
• Capture photo and video content at events, trade shows, and product launches
• Collaborate with the creative team to develop original content using client assets or new materials
• Monitor and analyze PR and social media performance, providing insights and reports
• Represent clients in meetings and at industry events

Qualifications and Skills

• Preferred Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English or related field.
• Required – 1 to 2 years of professional PR or marketing agency experience.
• Exceptional multi-tasking skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of AP Style as it pertains to writing for PR.
• Strong problem solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of social media platforms - especially Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube.
• Experienced in organizing, creating, and scheduling social media posts.
• Basic photography/video and editing skills.
• Those with basic technical knowledge of automobiles, trucks, and off-road driving will be given priority.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
