Role Overview

As an Account Manager , you will take immediate ownership of a major accounts , acting as the primary point of contact and trusted partner for these clients. In parallel, you will have opportunities to develop new business , expand existing relationships, and onboard additional accounts over time.

This role blends account management , client strategy , and business development , making it well-suited for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, revenue-driven staffing environment.


Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Client Delivery

  • Take over and manage a large, established accounts from day one, ensuring high-quality delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with hiring managers and key decision-makers.
  • Act as a consultative partner, providing market insights, workforce planning support, and staffing solutions aligned to client project needs.
  • Coordinate closely with delivery teams to ensure timely, accurate, and effective candidate placements.

Business Development & Account Growth

  • Identify and pursue opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
  • Generate new business through proactive outreach, networking, referrals, and market knowledge.
  • Support contract negotiation, fee discussions, and account onboarding for new clients.
  • Take on additional accounts over time as the desk and team continue to grow.

Market & Industry Knowledge

  • Stay informed on Oil & Gas market trends, project activity, and client demand within the Houston market.
  • Represent Spencer Ogden professionally with clients, industry contacts, and at networking events when appropriate.


Who We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in staffing or recruitment (required).
  • Proven experience managing client accounts and maintaining long-term relationships.
  • Commercially minded with the ability to identify growth and new business opportunities.
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
  • Oil & Gas or natural resources staffing experience preferred.
  • Permanent U.S. work authorization required
