Account Manager - Commercial Real Estate

Position Summary

The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for national commercial real estate clients seeking to expand their real estate footprints across the country. This role sits at the intersection of client relationship management, broker network development, and operational execution within a fast-paced brokerage environment.

The Account Manager is responsible for understanding each client's strategic real estate objectives and translating those into actionable workstreams across multiple markets. Day to day, this means managing high-volume client communication — fielding, triaging, and organizing 150+ emails daily from various clients — while ensuring nothing falls through the cracks. The role demands someone who thrives on structure, urgency, and follow-through.

A critical component of this position is building and managing a national network of high-performing local brokers in target cities. This requires a proactive, boots-on-the-ground approach: cold calling, vetting, and cultivating relationships with brokers who can deliver results in their respective markets. The Account Manager must be comfortable making outbound calls, establishing rapport quickly, and holding external partners accountable to timelines and deliverables.

Internally, the Account Manager works closely with in-house brokers to organize, prioritize, and manage competing workloads from multiple clients simultaneously. This includes ensuring that deal timelines are on track, follow-ups are completed, and all stakeholders — both internal and external — are kept informed and aligned. The ideal candidate is a natural task master who drives accountability across every touchpoint and takes ownership of moving work forward without waiting to be asked.

This position is well suited for someone who combines strong interpersonal skills with operational discipline, and who is energized by the challenge of keeping a complex, multi-client, multi-market operation running smoothly.

Core Responsibilities

Client Communication & Workflow Management

  • Triage ~150 emails per day: route to the right people, draft responses, flag urgent decisions, and track outstanding items
  • Own responsiveness to client requests for documents, reports, status updates, and ad hoc needs
  • Turn meetings and calls into clear outcomes — prepare agendas, capture notes, publish action items with owners and deadlines, and track completion

Deal Execution & Reporting

  • Support and drive multi-market deal execution across active transactions
  • Own transaction reporting: maintain status trackers, prepare client updates, assemble document packages, and deliver decision-ready summaries
  • Produce and coordinate client-ready deliverables including recurring reports and status updates

Broker Network Development

  • Recruit and manage local broker partners in active markets through cold outreach, vetting, onboarding, and ongoing performance management
  • Coordinate brokers, vendors, and internal stakeholders to hit deal timelines and prevent dropped details

Accountability & Operational Rigor

  • Drive accountability across every workstream — ensure every task has a clear owner, due date, priority, and defined next step
  • Identify and execute special projects that reduce recurring inefficiencies and improve speed of execution

Operating Standard: Plan → Feedback → Revise → Execute

This role operates with high independence. You are expected to do the legwork before escalating: gather facts, align stakeholders, identify risks, and propose a path forward.

The 1-3-1 Framework: When bringing items to leadership, come with 1 recommendation, 3 viable options, and 1 direct question (approve, choose, or redirect). Default to solutions — when raising an issue, include options, tradeoffs, and your recommended next step. Use leadership for decisions and direction, not discovery and research.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in account management, client services, operations, or transaction coordination — preferably in commercial real estate, professional services, or a high-volume client-facing environment
  • Demonstrated ability to manage high-volume communication and competing priorities without sacrificing accuracy or responsiveness
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills — able to draft professional client-facing correspondence quickly and clearly
  • Experience coordinating across multiple external partners, vendors, or stakeholders simultaneously
  • Proficiency with project management or workflow tools (e.g., ClickUp, Asana, Monday, or similar)
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable with cold calling and outbound outreach to build new relationships
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Direct experience supporting a deal team with inbox management, calendar coordination, meeting notes, and follow-through in a high-volume environment
  • Proven ability to coordinate multi-threaded workstreams with tight, overlapping deadlines
  • Exposure to transaction operations, broker coordination, CRM systems, or client reporting workflows
  • Experience in commercial real estate, tenant representation, or corporate real estate services
  • Familiarity with ClickUp or similar task management platforms

Key Competencies

  • Proactive & Assertive — Anticipates needs and acts without waiting to be asked
  • High Judgment & Discretion — Knows when to act independently and when to escalate
  • Low Ego, High Standards — Willing to do the administrative work, but executes it at an executive level
  • Calm Under Pressure — Maintains composure and clarity when managing competing urgent demands
  • Direct Communicator — Clear, concise, and reliable in follow-through
  • Solutions-First Mindset — Brings decision-ready answers rather than open-ended questions
