Metsä Board is looking for an
ACCOUNT MANAGER, MIDDLE EAST AFRICA (MEA)
to join our Emerging markets sales team where you will have the opportunity to learn, grow, develop and excel. In this position you will report to the Sales Director, Emerging Markets and the position is home office based. The successful candidate will preferably be based in Turkey (Istanbul) or alternatively in the MEA region or in Europe within one hours’ drive of a major International airport which has excellent direct flight connections to Middle East Africa.
What is the job that awaits you?
As Account Manager for Middle East Africa you will be responsible for
Identifying and developing new business opportunities and new customers in the region and driving profitable growth
Managing existing business, accounts and customer relationships with responsibility for delivering budget and other key defined financial targets
Expanding business and driving growth through development of relationships with brand owners, especially in the healthcare/pharmaceutical, food & beverage, foodservice, beautycare and tobacco segments
Creating and implementing key account plans with the support and involvement of technical, supply chain, sustainability and other functions within Metsä Board
Keeping abreast of business intelligence regarding the market, customers, competitors, products and trends and reporting these in timely fashion to internal stakeholders
Creating and updating sales forecasts and maintaining data pertaining to customer accounts in CRM
What are we expecting of you?
A relevant higher education degree or equivalent commercial experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience in sales and account management with a proven and demonstrable track record of achieving growth and results
A sales background in the paper and board or packaging industry is preferred, for example selling folding cartons or foodservice products to brand owners or selling paper and board products to converters and brand owners
Experience of selling in the Middle East and North Africa with knowledge of local business practices and culture
A proactive, motivated well-organized individual with a service mindset and strong interpersonal and communication skills combined with numeric and analytical abilities
Disciplined, organized and with the ability to work according to tight deadlines
Ability to work on own initiative whilst being a committed team player
Fluent spoken and written English and Arabic, French language skills are considered as an advantage
Flexibility to travel extensively in the region
