JOB SUMMARY:
The Account Manager will serve as one of the primary commercial representatives of Radio Bahrain, responsible for generating advertising and sponsorship revenue, managing client and agency relationships, and growing the station’s commercial portfolio across all platforms.
The role requires an experienced commercial professional capable of independently managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation, closing, campaign delivery, and account renewal, across multiple revenue streams, including spot airtime, show sponsorships, branded segments, digital media, and station activations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving individual revenue targets, building a strong pipeline of new business, retaining and growing existing accounts, and contributing to Radio Bahrain’s overall commercial strategy and market positioning.
This is a target-driven commercial role requiring strong relationship-building skills, confident negotiation ability, sound commercial judgement, and a solid understanding of media sales and the Bahrain advertising market.
The Account Manager is expected to contribute beyond direct selling by supporting proposal development, campaign concepts, client servicing, market intelligence, and cross-departmental coordination with Programming, Production, and Marketing to deliver integrated commercial solutions.
The role requires someone who understands how to build trusted relationships with both local clients and the wider regional and multinational advertiser community while remaining commercially sharp, professional, and aligned with Radio Bahrain’s brand values.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
·       Identify, prospect, and develop new advertising and sponsorship business across direct clients and media agencies.
·       Manage and grow a portfolio of existing accounts, ensuring strong retention, renewal, and revenue growth.
·       Achieve and exceed individual monthly, quarterly, and annual revenue targets.
·       Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and media plans tailored to client objectives.
·       Negotiate rates, packages, and contracts in line with the station’s rate card and commercial policy.
·       Sell across the full commercial portfolio, including spot airtime, show sponsorships, branded segments, digital media, and event activations.
·       Build and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and reporting.
·       Develop strong, trusted relationships with clients, agencies, and key decision-makers.
·       Work closely with Programming, Production, and Marketing to develop integrated and creative commercial solutions.
·       Coordinate with the traffic and scheduling team to ensure accurate campaign booking and delivery.
·       Ensure all campaigns are delivered to client expectations and follow up on performance and results.
·       Monitor the market, competitor activity, advertising trends, and client industries to identify opportunities.
·       Maintain accurate records of sales activity, contracts, and client communication in the station’s systems.
·       Represent Radio Bahrain professionally at client meetings, industry events, and station activations.
·       Support the collection of payments and management of client accounts in coordination with finance.
·       Ensure compliance with commercial policies, discount approval thresholds, and brand standards at all times.
·       Contribute ideas for new commercial products, packages, and revenue opportunities.
·       Remain flexible to support seasonal campaigns, major events, and time-sensitive commercial requirements.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:
Experience
·       Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in media sales, advertising sales, or a commercial/account management role, preferably within radio, media, or a related industry.
·       Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding revenue targets and growing client accounts.
·       Strong experience managing the full sales cycle, from prospecting and pitching to negotiation, closing, and account renewal.
·       Experience selling across multiple commercial products, such as airtime, sponsorships, branded content, digital media, and events, is highly preferred.
·       Experience working with both direct clients and media agencies, and managing key account relationships.
·       Previous experience in the GCC, Bahrain, or a multicultural commercial environment is a strong advantage.
·       Existing relationships with clients and agencies in the Bahrain market are an advantage.
Qualifications
·       Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Marketing, Media, Communications, Advertising, or a related field is preferred.
·       Equivalent professional, commercial or sales experience may be considered in place of formal academic qualifications.
·       Excellent command of spoken and written English is essential; Arabic language ability is a strong advantage.
·       A valid Bahrain driving licence is preferred for client visits and meetings.

·       Strong sales ability with proven skills in prospecting, pitching, negotiation, closing, and account management.
·       Confidently managing revenue targets, pipelines, forecasting, and the full commercial sales cycle.
·       Solid understanding of media sales, rate cards, advertising packages, and how to structure commercial proposals.
·       Ability to identify client needs and develop tailored, value-driven solutions that deliver results.
Market & Client Awareness
·       Good understanding of the Bahrain advertising market, client industries, and competitor activity.
·       Ability to build and maintain trusted, long-term relationships with clients, agencies, and decision-makers.
·       Awareness of how radio, digital, and event platforms can be combined into integrated commercial solutions.
Commercial Judgement & Professionalism
·       Sound commercial judgement and understanding of pricing, margins, approval thresholds, and the station’s commercial policy.
·       Ability to represent Radio Bahrain credibly and professionally with clients, agencies, and partners.
·       Understands the role of an Account Manager beyond selling, including client servicing, market intelligence, and brand representation.
