Account Receivable Specialist

Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Receivable Clerk to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency in various accounting software to support our financial operations effectively.

Duties

• Process accounts receivable transactions, including invoicing and payment processing.
• Perform account reconciliation to ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
• Maintain detailed records of customer accounts and transactions.
• Collaborate with the collections team to manage overdue accounts and negotiate payment plans.
• Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or PeopleSoft for data entry and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and SOX regulations in all financial activities.
• Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as needed.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries related to billing and payments.
• Support the finance team with additional tasks related to accounts payable and general bookkeeping.

Experience

• Proven experience in accounts receivable or a related accounting role is preferred.
• Familiarity with financial concepts, medical billing, CPT coding, ICD-10, and revenue cycle management is a plus.
• Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform account analysis and maintain accurate records.
• Excellent data entry skills with a focus on detail, including 10 key typing proficiency.
• Knowledge of public accounting principles and non-profit accounting practices is beneficial.
• Strong negotiation skills for managing collections effectively while maintaining positive customer relationships.
