About the role

We are looking for an Account Supervisor to join our growing team. In this role you will work closely with Thermal leadership and client teams to deliver robust communications programs and consistent media results for some of the most revolutionary biotech executives, scientists, venture capitalists, and technologists in the world.

Responsibilities may include:

Account management - Lead client engagements and programs in a fast-paced, disruptive environment.

  • Proactively anticipate and manage client needs, ensuring that all work is up to the standard of the agency and client.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing all client-facing communications including Slack conversations, email, developing call agendas and follow up, flagging timely coverage or industry updates, etc.
  • Effectively drive results and prioritize responsibilities based on impact, timelines, workflow and client goals, demonstrating responsibility and accountability for overall agency performance and program success.
  • Be the expert on each account managed, including their technology, team, competitive landscape, and related media.
  • Thoughtfully counsel clients based on broad communications landscape and business goals, developing strategy for media relations and communications programs that align with client priorities.

Media relations - Develop and drive media relations programs for select clients.

  • Proactively pitch and manage media relations for the agency and its clients.
  • Consistently secure opportunities for clients with priority reporters, publications and editorial teams.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key reporters in health and biotech.
  • Identify timely and strategic media opportunities and news angles.
  • Actively monitor industry activity, coverage and narratives. Communicate a point of view on current market trends, issues and opportunities.
  • Manage pitch campaigns that are strategic, correctly messaged, and executed flawlessly.
  • Develop and review related materials and analysis, including pitches, media backgrounders, fact sheets, coverage reports and analysis, coverage tracking and measurement, and coverage reports.
  • Collaborate with the team on cross-client opportunities.
  • Develop and drive pitch efforts to secure speaking roles for clients at leading business, health and life sciences trade conferences and industry events.

Writing and content - Utilize excellent writing and fast editing capabilities to help shape client stories and messaging.

  • Develop and execute high-impact communication narratives that elevate our clients' voice of business and executive leadership.
  • Develop/edit content for a variety of audiences and channels, including press releases, pitches, client memos/plans, messaging platforms, website copy, award submissions, social media posts, talking points and Q&A’s, etc.
  • Ensure all materials and correspondence meet agency standards and client objectives.

The responsibilities of this role will vary depending on the needs of each specific account and will not be limited to those listed above.

About you

  • 5-8+ years experience in public relations, preferably in a public relations agency setting
  • Experience in public relations, preferably in a PR agency setting
  • Experience working specifically in life sciences, biotech, healthcare, healthtech, or science communications
  • Genuine interest in biotech, scientific and health technologies and services
  • A confident communicator that thrives in a fast-paced, high growth environment
  • An ability to track news, events and competitors and identify media opportunities in real-time
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and analytical skills
  • Calmness under pressure and ability to achieve within tight deadlines
  • Multi-tasking problem solver
  • Direct and transparent interpersonal communication skills
  • A polished, professional and timely approach
  • Sound judgment and strong attention to detail, tone and context

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
