Job Summary:

The Junior Accountant will assist in managing the school’s day-to-day financial transactions, including fee collection, payments, and record maintenance. The role involves supporting the finance department in bookkeeping, data entry, and reporting, ensuring that all financial processes comply with school policies and accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions and update ledgers.
  • Assist in fee collection, reconciliation, and maintaining student fee records.
  • Prepare and issue receipts, invoices, and payment vouchers.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Support month-end and year-end financial closing activities.
  • Assist in preparing bank deposits and reconciling bank statements.
  • Help maintain accurate records of staff salaries, advances, and reimbursements.
  • Coordinate with vendors and process bills, payments, and purchase records.
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.
  • Support audit preparation and respond to auditor queries when required.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all financial information and school data.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com preferred).
  • 6 months to 3 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience in an educational institution is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
  • Familiarity with Tally, QuickBooks, or school ERP systems preferred.
  • Good command of MS Excel and other office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Integrity and professionalism in handling financial information.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
