Job Summary:

The Junior Accountant will support the finance team in handling day-to-day accounting operations specific to the travel and tourism sector. This includes managing bookings-related transactions, vendor payments, reconciliations, and assisting with compliance in line with UAE accounting standards and VAT regulations. The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and a willingness to learn within a fast-paced industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Record daily financial transactions related to travel bookings, ticketing, hotel reservations, and tour packages
  • Assist in accounts receivable: follow up on client payments and update receipts
  • Support accounts payable: process vendor/supplier invoices (airlines, hotels, transport companies, DMCs)
  • Prepare bank, supplier, and client reconciliations
  • Handle petty cash and employee expense claims
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
  • Support VAT documentation and compliance as per UAE laws
  • Maintain proper filing of invoices, receipts, and vouchers
  • Coordinate with travel consultants and operations team regarding billing issues
  • Provide support during internal and external audits

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum 1 years of UAE accounting experience (UAE experience in travel/tourism preferred)
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, IFRS, and UAE VAT regulations
  • Familiarity with travel & tourism accounting software is an advantage
  • Strong MS Excel and data entry skills
  • Good communication, teamwork, and organizational skills
  • High attention to detail and willingness to learn

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: AED2,500.00 - AED3,000.00 per month
