Accountant - Travel Agency Experience

Looking for Travel Agency accountant candidates with extensive experience in handling the finance/ Accounts of Travel Agencies.

Only those candidates with work experience as accountant in a Travel Agency must apply.

Candidate must be expert in managing Travel agency accounting, bookkeeping, financial Transactions, accurate journaling, handling and proper follow up of accounts payable and receivable, financial reconciliations, VAT filing, generating financial report, analyzing and monitoring financial reports, etc..

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and update daily accounting records, ledgers, and financial statements.
• Prepare and process invoices, receipts, payments, and expense reports.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
• Manage supplier and customer accounts, including travel partners, airlines, and hotels.
• Monitor and update the company’s online booking portal, ensuring all bookings, payments, and reports are properly recorded.
• Coordinate with the sales and operations teams to verify online portal transactions and resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Assist with audits, VAT submissions, and compliance with UAE accounting standards.
• Maintain confidentiality of financial data and ensure proper record keeping.
• Manage all accounting transactions
• Prepare budget forecasts
• Publish financial statements on time
• Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
• Reconcile accounts payable and receivable
• Compute taxes and prepare tax returns
• Manage balance sheets and profit/loss statements
• Report on the company’s financial health and liquidity
• Audit financial transactions and documents
• Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups when necessary
• Comply with financial policies and regulations

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the travel industry.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software
• Familiarity with online travel portals or booking systems.
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and other office applications.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
