Job Summary:
The Accountant will be responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial records of the institution. The role involves handling day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring statutory compliance, supporting audits, and assisting in financial planning and reporting. The candidate must ensure transparency, accuracy, and timely execution of all financial activities in accordance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain day-to-day accounting records including cash book, ledger, vouchers, and journal entries.
- Handle receipts, payments, bank transactions, and bank reconciliation statements.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and financial reports.
- Process salaries, payroll records, and statutory deductions.
- Ensure compliance with TDS, GST, PF, ESI, and other applicable statutory requirements.
- Assist in preparation of budgets, audits, and financial inspections.
- Maintain records related to fees, grants, scholarships, and institutional funds.
- Coordinate with auditors, banks, and government authorities as required.
- Ensure proper documentation, filing, and record-keeping of financial documents.
- Follow institutional financial policies and internal control procedures.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the management from time to time.
Eligibility & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (B.Com) or equivalent from a recognized university.
- M.Com / CA (Inter) / CMA (Inter) will be an added advantage.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Tally, ERP systems, and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of accounting standards and financial regulations applicable to educational institutions.
Experience:
- Minimum 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience (experience in educational institutions preferred).
- Fresh candidates with strong accounting fundamentals may also be considered.
