Job Title: Accountant with Contracting Experience
Role Summary:
Responsible for managing financial operations related to contracting projects, ensuring accurate cost tracking, compliance with contract terms, and timely reporting to support project delivery and profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and monitor budgets for contracting projects, including labor, materials, and subcontractor costs
- Track actual vs. projected expenses and provide variance analysis to project managers
- Review and process supplier invoice, purchase orders, and subcontractor invoices
- Ensure compliance with contract terms, tax regulations, and internal financial policies
- Maintain accurate records of project-related transactions and prepare monthly financial reports
- Support audits and financial reviews related to contract performance and billing
- Manage accounts payable/receivable specific to contracting activities
- Assist in preparing claims, change orders, and financial documentation for client billing
- Bank reconciliation & fixed asset (FA) registration
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
- Minimum 4–6 years of experience in accounting within a contracting or construction environment
- Strong understanding of project-based accounting, cost control, and contract compliance
- Proficiency in accounting software (ERP systems)
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
