Job Title: Accountant
Department: Client Accounting
Reports To: Finance Manager

Job Summary:

The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting activities for assigned clients, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, and adherence to internal controls. The role requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle day-to-day accounting functions for assigned clients, including data entry, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date financial records while ensuring confidentiality of client data.
  • Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Prepare and support the submission of tax returns, VAT filings, and other statutory requirements in compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Operate accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, Zoho Books, and other financial systems efficiently.
  • Review and verify financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Support audit procedures by preparing documentation and reconciling discrepancies as directed.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls, company policies, and applicable financial laws and regulations.
  • Complete assigned tasks within deadlines and provide regular updates to reporting managers.
  • Provide backend support for onboarding new clients, financial template preparation, and data migration.
  • Coordinate with team members and other departments to ensure smooth service delivery.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records and communications.
  • Create and update job statuses in Mandoobi software accurately and promptly.
  • Respond to official emails and internal communications (including WhatsApp groups) professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Maintain punctuality, professionalism, honesty, and integrity in all dealings.
  • Contribute positively to a structured, organized, and professional office environment.
  • Perform any other accounting-related duties as assigned by management.
