JOB DESCRIPTION:

An accountant's job description should include analyzing financial data, preparing and maintaining financial records, and creating reports like balance sheets and income statements. Key responsibilities also involve managing accounts payable/receivable, overseeing budgets, ensuring tax and legal compliance, and assisting with audits. Essential skills include strong analytical abilities, attention to detail, and proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain and oversee the general ledger, including performing monthly and annual closings.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and other accounting records.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Accounting & Cost Control.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable and ensure timely processing of invoices and payments.
  • Assist with the creation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and information.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial laws and regulations.
  • Monitor financial transactions to identify potential errors or fraud.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by the Immediate Supervisor, Manager as well as the Management.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Proven work experience of at least minimum of 3 years as an accountant or similar role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, with advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
