Job Summary

We are a growing Scent marketing company based in Dubai with diversified operations including service contracts, equipment rentals, direct sales, e-commerce, and consignment partnerships. We are looking for a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial records, and assist with reconciliations, inventory tracking, and e-commerce accounting.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on accounting knowledge, be comfortable working with multiple revenue streams, and be willing to learn and grow in a fast-paced SME environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Accounting & Bookkeeping

• Record daily accounting transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, and receipts
• Maintain proper books of accounts in compliance with UAE accounting practices
• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing activities
• Maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting schedules

2. Revenue & Invoicing

• Handle invoicing for all client types (service-based, direct sales, e-commerce).
• Record consignment sales and settlements from Virgin
• Follow up on outstanding payments and ensure timely collection of receivables.
• Track deferred revenue and service income where applicable.
• Ensure proper documentation and filing for all customer invoices.

3. Bank & Cash Management

• Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis to ensure accuracy of bank balances and ledger records.
• Reconcile payment gateways, POS transactions, and online payments (including settlements, fees, chargebacks, and refunds).

4. E-commerce Accounting (Shopify)

• Record and reconcile Shopify sales, refunds, discounts, and payment gateway fees
• Match Shopify reports with accounting records
• Coordinate with logistics partners for order reconciliation

5. Inventory Management

• Maintain inventory records for machines, oils, and consumables
• Track stock movement for: Direct sales, E-commerce orders, Consignment stock and Distributor stock
• Reconcile physical stock with system records
• Assist in stock valuation and slow-moving inventory analysis
• Track inventory placed on consignment and sold quantities

7. Accounts Payable

· Process and record supplier invoices accurately, ensuring all supporting documents are complete (PO/GRN/delivery notes).

· Track supplier balances, reconcile supplier statements, and resolve discrepancies or invoice queries.

· Prepare and manage payment schedules, ensuring timely payments and proper filing of payment records.

8. VAT & Compliance Support

• Assist in VAT data preparation (sales, purchases, input/output VAT)
• Maintain VAT-related documentation
• Support senior accountant during VAT filing and audits

9. Reporting & Support

• Assist in preparing management reports as required
• Coordinate with operations, sales, and admin teams for financial data

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years of accounting experience (UAE experience preferred)
• Basic knowledge of VAT in UAE
• Experience or exposure to:
• Inventory accounting
• Bank reconciliations
• E-commerce accounting (Shopify is a plus)
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with accounting software (ZohoBooks, or similar)
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
