Essential Duties and Responsibilities

System Optimization: Identify, implement and leverage modern technology and systems to streamline accounting processes.

Payroll & Commissions: Efficiently manage, track and process payroll, bonuses, and complex sales commissions.

Financial Management: Maintain accurate bookkeeping and financial records using QuickBooks and other apps that help you work smarter and more efficiently.

Strategic Analysis: Analyze financial metrics and sales data to help leadership make decisive, informed decisions.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work seamlessly across the company, communicating effectively with the CEO, leadership, managers, co-workers and advisors.

Confidentiality: Handle highly sensitive financial and personnel data with strict confidentiality and professionalism.

Project Management: Track multiple deadlines, multi-task effectively, and maintain flexibility to meet business goals.

Education & Knowledge

College education is preferred.

Strong foundational knowledge in accounting and bookkeeping.

Insurance and financial services industry knowledge/designations are a significant plus.

Experience

A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in accounting.

Proven and consistent track record of maintaining and managing payroll and sales commissions processes and systems.

Experience in adopting and transitioning to new accounting technologies and systems.

Human Resource experience a plus.

Skills & Qualifications

Tech-Savvy: High proficiency in QuickBooks, accounting and/or sales commissions apps, CRM software technology (i.e., HubSpot), and the Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).

Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and solid listening skills. A professional appearance and demeanor are required.

Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional ability to build relationships, work well in a team environment.

Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented with exceptional time management and organizational skills.

Adaptability: Strong study habits and the ability to retain, apply, and communicate complex financial concepts.

Pay: $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 per year
