About Us

Heartland Sod Farm is a rapidly growing agricultural and construction services company specializing in sod production, installation, trucking, and site development. We operate a large fleet of equipment, manage multiple farm locations, and work with both private and public-sector customers throughout Oklahoma and surrounding states.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant to oversee the company’s financial operations. This individual will work directly with ownership and management to maintain accurate financial records, manage payroll, monitor job costing, and provide financial reporting that supports business growth and decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll
• Reconcile bank, credit card, and loan accounts
• Prepare monthly financial statements and reports
• Track equipment loans, leases, and asset depreciation
• Monitor project and job costing for farm, trucking, and construction operations
• Assist with budgeting and cash flow forecasting
• Prepare records for CPA and year-end tax reporting
• Manage sales tax filings and regulatory reporting
• Track inventory, fuel usage, and operational expenses
• Maintain QuickBooks and accounting systems
• Assist management with financial analysis and business planning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• 3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with payroll processing
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
• Experience in agriculture, construction, trucking, or manufacturing is a plus
