Accountant

Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with company policies and statutory requirements. The role supports project accounting, cost control, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll coordination, and financial reporting activities for Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesFinancial Accounting & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliation and ensure accuracy of financial transactions.
  • Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Monitor cash flow and prepare financial summaries for management review.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments.
  • Verify vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
  • Generate customer invoices and follow up on outstanding receivables.
  • Maintain records of project-related payments and collections.

Project Accounting & Cost Control

  • Monitor project costs and allocate expenses to respective projects.
  • Track project budgets, commitments, and expenditures.
  • Assist in preparing project cost reports and profitability analysis.
  • Support project managers with financial information and cost monitoring.

Payroll & Employee Payments

  • Assist in payroll preparation and verification.
  • Process employee reimbursements, advances, and settlements.
  • Ensure compliance with company payroll procedures and statutory requirements.

Bank & Cash Management

  • Perform bank reconciliations on a regular basis.
  • Monitor petty cash transactions and maintain proper documentation.
  • Assist in cash flow forecasting and fund management.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure compliance with local tax regulations, VAT requirements, and company policies.
  • Prepare supporting documents for internal and external audits.
  • Maintain proper filing and documentation of financial records.
  • Support implementation of financial controls and procedures.

ERP & System Management

  • Record transactions accurately in ERP/accounting systems.
  • Generate financial reports and analysis from ERP systems.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within financial systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within EPC, Construction, Engineering, Oil & Gas, or Infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of project accounting and cost control principles.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Tally, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis.

Pay: QAR5,000.00 - QAR6,000.00 per hour
