Accountant

We are seeking a detail‑oriented and proactive Accountant with a minimum of 5 years of experience to join our contracting company and support our financial operations with accuracy, integrity, and efficiency. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in construction accounting, project costing, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle in compliance with UAE accounting standards
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Maintain an accurate general ledger and ensure timely month‑end closing
• Prepare management reports, financial summaries, and dashboards to support strategic decision‑making
• Prepare audit schedules and documentation to support internal and external audit processes
• Coordinate with auditors for annual audits and ensure compliance
• Oversee project costing, job costing, and cost allocation
• Collaborate with procurement and project teams to validate cost allocations, contract billing, and expense coding
• Review and verify subcontractor invoices, LPOs, and site‑related expenses
• Monitor accounts receivable, follow up on payments, and reconcile customer accounts
• Handle accounts payable, supplier reconciliations, and payment processing
• Prepare cash flow statements, forecasts, and budget reports
• Develop and maintain payment forecast plans to support financial planning and liquidity management
• Monitor and process WPS, payroll entries, and employee settlements
• Ensure VAT compliance, filing, and documentation
• Ensure compliance with VAT regulations, including timely filing of returns and maintenance of accurate tax records

Candidate Profile:

• Master’s / Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Minimum 5 years of UAE accounting experience, preferably in a contracting or construction company
• Strong knowledge of project accounting, cost control, and UAE VAT
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); advanced Excel skills preferred (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
• Experience with accounting software or ERP systems (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle)
• Proactive mindset with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
