We are seeking a meticulous and organised Accountant to join our team in Chicago and manage our financial operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring our financial practices support our continued growth and commitment to quality service.

Responsibilities

* Manage all accounting transactions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger entries.
* Prepare and analyse monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, such as balance sheets and profit and loss statements.
* Conduct regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
* Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
* Ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll and tax filings.
* Maintain compliance with financial policies, regulations, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
* Support the auditing process by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
* Reinforce financial data confidentiality and ensure the integrity of our accounting systems.

Qualifications

* Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar financial role.
* A thorough understanding of accounting principles and procedures.
* Hands-on experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks) and proficiency in MS Excel.
* Excellent analytical skills with a strong attention to detail.
* Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
* A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* An appreciation for sustainable and environmentally friendly business practices is highly desirable.
