ACCOUNTANT & ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

THE EMPLOYER

The employer is a well-established, private, yachting, social, and dining club located in Ventura, California. It operates its own marina and clubhouse (with kitchen, bar, dining, and meeting capabilities) on behalf of a membership that fluctuates between 225-250 individuals. The Club plays a leading role in the socio-economic environment of The Ventura Harbor.

JOB SUMMARY

The Accountant & Administrative Assistant provides support across accounting, operations, and general administration, key to ensuring accurate financial processing and efficient day-to-day office operations. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys variety and working both independently and closely with different teams within the club. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a collegial environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounting

· Maintains:

o Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable;

o General Ledger;

o Financial Statements; and,

o other related documents

Member Accounts and Internal Sales

  • Prepares and process orders, invoices;
  • Maintains member accounts and records;
  • Communicates with, and responds to, members regarding their accounts; and,
  • Assists with pricing updates and sales documentation of club merchandise.

Office Administration

  • Provides general administrative and clerical support to management and staff;
  • Answers phone calls and emails;
  • Greets visitors professionally;
  • Prepares correspondence and reports;
  • Maintains confidentiality of financial and member information;
  • Processes deposits and handles outgoing and incoming mail;
  • Maintain and update database systems; and,
  • Performs other duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • A background in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required;
  • Working knowledge of accounting software is essential;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, ) is essential;

  • Business appropriate, written and verbal communication skills;
  • The ability to work independently, as well as part of a team in a service-oriented environment.
  • The ability to pay attention to detail and apply strong problem-solving skills;
  • The ability to adapt, and work effectively with, a variety of individuals and situations.

WORK LOCATION

· In person, in an office environment, on a 40 hour/week base schedule

PAY

· $27.00 to $32.00 per hour, Dependent Upon Qualifications
