Accountant and bookkeeper for small CPG beverage brand

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant and Bookkeeper to join a dynamic small CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) beverage brand. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage all aspects of financial record-keeping, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. You will be instrumental in maintaining financial health, supporting budgeting efforts, and ensuring seamless financial operations across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including journal entries, accounts payable and receivable, and bank reconciliations using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or Sage.
• Perform general ledger accounting functions, ensuring accuracy in account reconciliation and adherence to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
• Prepare monthly financial statements and detailed reports that provide insights into the company’s financial position.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliation regularly to verify asset, liability, and equity accounts are accurate and complete.
• Oversee payroll processing and ensure compliance with tax regulations; handle tax filings and related documentation.
• Assist with budgeting processes by analyzing expenses, forecasting revenues, and supporting financial planning efforts.
• Maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions, journal entries, and account analyses to support audits and internal reviews.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in corporate accounting with a strong understanding of GAAP standards.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar platforms; familiarity with Quicken is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping, account reconciliation, debits & credits, and general ledger management.
• Ability to perform bank reconciliation accurately and efficiently using 10-key typing skills for data entry.
• Excellent understanding of financial concepts including budgeting, account analysis, journal entries, and financial report writing.
• Prior experience in public accounting or technical accounting roles is required.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to analyze accounts critically while maintaining high accuracy under tight deadlines.
