Duties
- Manage daily bookkeeping activities including journal entries, account analysis, and ledger maintenance using QuickBooks & our trucking TMS
- Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and general ledger accounting to ensure accuracy across all financial statements
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections while maintaining vendor and customer records
- Prepare detailed financial reports, including profit & loss statements, budgets, and other financial analyses to support decision-making
- Conduct account reconciliations, account analysis, and double-entry bookkeeping to uphold GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) standards
- Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and governmental accounting requirements to ensure compliance with relevant regulations
Skills
- 1–3+ years of bookkeeping or accounting experience (required)
- General knowledge of Microsoft Excel (formulas, editing, organizing, etc.) (required)
- Proficiency in accounting software QuickBooks; strong knowledge of financial software tools
- Experience in trucking, logistics, or transportation industry (strongly preferred)
- Solid understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP standards, and governmental accounting practices
- Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation
- Knowledge of accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management systems
- Ability to perform detailed account analysis and prepare accurate financial reports with clarity
- Familiarity with tax experience related to business operations and compliance requirements
- Strong technical skills including 10-key typing for data entry; excellent attention to detail in bookkeeping tasks
- Effective communication skills for writing financial reports and collaborating with team members on budgeting and financial planning
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
- Experience with load boards or trucking software (e.g., TMS systems)
- Familiarity with IFTA reporting or DOT-related expense tracking
- Payroll experience, especially for drivers or contractors
Work Schedule
- 10–20 hours per week (flexible schedule)
