Find The RightJob.
Dear Future Team Member,
First, thank you for taking the time to truly read our job description. We have consistently posted this opportunity, yet many applicants apply without reviewing the requirements or having relevant experience.
I value every individual who considers becoming part of our team, but it is important that candidates are able to meet the needs of our organization. Unfortunately, we have experienced situations where applicants lacked basic computer skills, professional judgment, or had salary expectations that did not align with their current level of experience.
I understand that everyone works to earn a living. However, I strongly believe in “earned, not given.” Historically, anyone who has worked with me would tell you that I am a fair employer. At the same time, if you do not yet have the experience, training and development will be necessary. I will compensate you fairly, and your growth within the company will be based upon your actual performance, accountability, efficiency, and attention to detail.
I want to move away from the mindset that compensation should increase regardless of performance. If you desire more, you should be willing to demonstrate that you are a valuable and contributing member of the team.
If you have continued reading this far, I encourage you to move forward and interview with me. I would love the opportunity for us to grow and build together. I am seeking someone who genuinely wants to grow with a family-oriented company long term.
Most importantly, we are looking for individuals who can not only perform the work, but also align with our culture and values. We believe in supporting and respecting people from all backgrounds — which is why we proudly operate as Diverse Community Partners, Inc.
About the Role
This role goes beyond basic data entry. While we will train you on our internal systems and processes, you are expected to already understand core accounting concepts.
We are a full-cycle accounting firm — not limited to Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. As such, you must be able to analyze, understand, and accurately record financial activity.
You should be comfortable with:
Understanding Balance Sheets and Income Statements
Applying debits and credits correctly
Understanding how transactions impact financial statements
Working with different entity structures (LLCs, Corporations, etc.)
In a small firm, every task matters. Accuracy, consistency, and accountability are critical. Trust is earned through your ability to execute without constant oversight.
Training is intended to refine and expand your skills — not to teach accounting fundamentals from the ground up.
Compensation Transparency
We believe in transparency. If you do not meet all of the qualifications, you may still be considered; however, compensation will reflect your current skill level.
A minimum level of bookkeeping or accounting experience is required to be considered for this role.
Minimum Qualifications
2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping or accounting experience
Experience using QuickBooks or Xero (including posting transactions and performing reconciliations — not just reviewing reports)
Strong understanding of:
o Debits and credits
o Assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenses
o Balance Sheets and Income Statements
Experience beyond basic AP/AR data entry
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently
Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to grow
Tax Exposure (Highly Valued)
Our firm also prepares income tax returns. While direct tax preparation experience is not required, you must understand how financial statements tie into tax filings.
If your accounting foundation is strong, we are willing to train you in tax preparation as part of your growth within the firm.
Final Note
We are looking for someone who is serious about their profession, values accuracy, and understands that growth comes with responsibility. If you are seeking an opportunity where you can develop professionally while contributing to a growing firm, we encourage you to apply.
Warm regards,
Ms. Joyce
