Accountant – Construction / Contracting Company

Job Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to join our construction/contracting company in the UAE. The ideal candidate must have strong UAE experience and in-depth knowledge of accounting practices specific to the construction industry.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in the UAE (mandatory)
• Proven experience working in a construction or contracting company
• Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws, VAT filing, and compliance
• Hands-on experience with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP)
• Ability to prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and reconciliations
• Experience with cost control, project accounting, and job costing
• Proficient in accounting software (Quickbooks) and MS Excel
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations
• Handle AR/AP, invoicing, collections, and payments
• Prepare VAT returns and ensure full compliance with UAE regulations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and audit requirements
• Coordinate with management on financial planning and controls

Preferred:

• Experience with construction contracts, variations, and retention
• Immediate or short notice availability
• Must be an English speaker with strong communication skills
