About Slider

Slider is a fast-growing tech startup transforming last-mile delivery and customer experience. We operate a high-volume, fast-paced marketplace with daily rider payouts, customer transactions, and client billing. We are looking for a hands-on Accountant / Data Analyst to own our financial operations, build structure, and support our growth.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, analytical, detail-oriented, and excited to build financial processes from the ground up in a startup environment.

Role Overview

You will be responsible for all day-to-day accounting, payouts, invoicing, reporting, VAT compliance, and financial planning. You will manage both the operational finance (rider payouts, daily reconciliations, billing) and strategic finance (cash flow, P&L, unit economics).

You will work closely with the founders, operations, and tech teams to ensure financial accuracy, transparency, and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

1. Payouts & Revenue Reconciliation

  • Manage daily rider payouts: calculations, adjustments, and transfers.
  • Reconcile orders, commissions, refunds, and disputes.
  • Oversee customer refunds & adjustments and ensure they are correctly booked.
  • Reconcile payment gateway reports (Stripe/Checkout/Tabby/etc.) and track gateway fees.

2. Client Billing & Collections

  • Prepare and issue monthly invoices to clients.
  • Maintain client-level profitability, especially for special-rate or custom-priced clients.
  • Track receivables/aging and follow up on payment collections.
  • Maintain accurate revenue reports and monthly closing schedules.

3. Payroll & Staff-Related Finance

  • Prepare monthly payroll and coordinate with HR on new joiners/leavers.
  • Calculate rider incentives, bonuses, and staff benefits.
  • Maintain end-of-service provision tracking (UAE compliant).

4. Expenses, Vendors & Payables

  • Process vendor invoices and manage payment schedules.
  • Maintain expense categorization and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Implement basic spending approval flows and cost controls.
  • Monitor SaaS subscriptions, office expenses, marketing spend, etc.

5. Accounting, Bookkeeping & Reporting

  • Maintain full accounting records in Xero/QuickBooks/Zoho/Odoo.
  • Perform monthly bank, payment gateway, and wallet reconciliations.
  • Complete month-end closing with:
  • Profit & Loss
  • Balance Sheet
  • Cash Flow
  • Track and manage fixed assets and depreciation.

6. Cash Flow, Unit Economics & Financial Planning

  • Maintain a weekly cash flow forecast and flag any upcoming risks.
  • Analyze company gross margin, contribution margin, and profitability by client/city.
  • Track CAC, LTV, and payback period in coordination with marketing.
  • Build simple dashboards/reports to support decision-making.

7. Tax, VAT & Compliance

  • Prepare VAT filings and ensure full compliance with FTA requirements.
  • Track input/output VAT and maintain proper documentation.
  • Support external audits and fundraising due diligence.

8. Process Building & Systems Integration

  • Improve and automate finance workflows, templates, and reporting.
  • Manage the accounting system and integrate it with internal tools and payment gateways.
  • Create and improve internal finance policies (expenses, reimbursements, approvals).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience (startup, marketplace, or delivery industry is a plus).
  • Strong knowledge of:
  • Accounting systems (Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho, Odoo, or similar)
  • Reconciliations (bank, gateway, wallet)
  • VAT filing and UAE compliance
  • Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills.
  • Experience with cash flow forecasting and P&L analysis.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in tech startups, delivery platforms, mobility, or fintech.
  • Knowledge of SQL or data analytics tools.
  • Experience building financial dashboards.
  • Understanding of unit economics for marketplace businesses.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED4,000.00 per month
