We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations, alongside hands-on experience with managing complex financial tasks. You will be responsible for preparing financial statements, managing accounts payable/receivable, performing audits, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with accounting standards (GAAP, IFRS).
- Account Reconciliation: Perform regular bank, credit card, and general ledger account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee the management of accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing and payments.
- Tax Preparation & Compliance: Assist in preparing tax returns and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Audit Coordination: Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, monitoring performance and providing analysis for cost-saving measures.
- Internal Controls: Implement and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting policies.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze financial data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and potential areas of concern.
- Other Duties: Support the finance team with ad hoc accounting tasks as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with a proven track record in financial reporting, tax preparation, and account reconciliation.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting principles, tax laws, and financial regulations.
- Analytical Skills: Ability to interpret complex financial data and make informed recommendations.
