We are looking for an Accountant to join our school in Abu Dhabi, preferably with previous experience in an educational setting.

Location: Abu Dhabi - Baniyas

Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to manage and oversee the financial operations of our school. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and efficient management of the school’s resources.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management & Reporting:

  • Prepare, review, and maintain financial documents, including invoices, bills, purchase orders, and expense reports.
  • Post journal entries and update financial statements regularly.
  • Conduct monthly, quarterly, and annual account closings and reconcile bank statements.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, analyzing variances, and providing recommendations.

Accounts Payable & Receivable:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate payments and collections.
  • Monitor outstanding debts and implement collection procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of all transactions and financial activities.

Inventory & Procurement:

  • Oversee stock levels, ensuring adequate inventory is maintained.
  • Ensure timely delivery of orders and liaise with suppliers as needed.
  • Monitor usage patterns and provide reports to management for effective future planning.

Compliance & Audits:

  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and internal policies.
  • Assist in internal and external audits, providing all necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard school assets.

Daily Operations:

  • Manage daily financial transactions and petty cash.
  • Supervise and coordinate with junior accounting or finance staff, if any.
  • Maintain accurate records of the organization’s debtors and creditors.
  • Monitor and track all expenditures, ensuring proper authorization and cost control.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial statements for regulatory authorities.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support financial planning and operational efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices in financial management.
  • Support management in strategic decision-making with financial analysis and insights.

Qualifications & Skills (Optional Section to Include):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification is an advantage (e.g., CPA, ACCA).
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail, integrity, and ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From AED8,000.00 per month

Experience:

  • Accounting: 3 years (Preferred)
