The Accountant is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in financial documentation, and supporting the organization’s financial operations. This role involves preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, maintaining ledgers, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, examine, and analyze financial statements, reports, and records.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Assist with internal and external audits.
- Process payroll or coordinate with payroll providers (if applicable).
- Monitor financial transactions and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare tax filings and support tax planning activities.
- Provide financial analysis and recommendations to management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Proven experience as an accountant or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of GAAP or relevant accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Xero).
- Advanced Excel skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- CPA or other accounting certification (preferred but not required).
