At Industrial Constructors/Managers (ICM), we don’t just build structures—we build the backbone of industry. With a 40+ year legacy as an award‑winning General Contractor, we’re seeking an Accountant I to join our Finance team in Thornton, CO.
This role is ideal for an accounting professional looking to grow within construction and industrial accounting, supporting core general ledger functions, regulatory reporting, and compliance requirements tied to complex project environments. You will work closely with the Controller and project stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and regulatory compliance across multiple project types.

What You’ll Do
· Reconcile assigned general ledger accounts, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
· Prepare journal entries and supporting documentation in accordance with GAAP.
· Prepare and maintain amortization schedules, including tracking of short term and long-term liabilities.
· Support fixed asset tracking and depreciation schedules.
· Assist with regulatory and compliance reporting, including: OCIP, CCIP, and ROCIP reporting, Sales and use tax filings, Certified Payroll support and reporting, Federal and state filings such as 940, 941, and SUTA, Union reporting, as applicable.
· Maintain organized and audit ready financial records.
· Provide accounting support during audits, internal reviews, and special projects.
· Collaborate cross functionally with payroll, project teams, and operations to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. Minimum 2 years of accounting experience; construction or industrial experience preferred.
Accounting Knowledge: Solid understanding of general ledger accounting and journal entry preparation. Exposure to fixed assets, depreciation, amortization, and account reconciliations.
Regulatory & Compliance Awareness: Familiarity with payroll‑related filings, sales tax, and regulatory reporting. Interest in learning certified payroll and union reporting requirements.
Technical Aptitude: Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data validation).
Attributes: Deadline driven with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy. Committed to confidentiality.
