EMR, a leader in commercial kitchen repair, has an opening for a Part Time Accountant I at our Rosedale, MD corporate location. The successful candidate will assist in Accounts Payable ensuring the accuracy and integrity of company vendor maintenance and invoices. Assist in timely delivery of properly adjusted trial balance each month. This is a part-time position with the potential to transition into a full-time role in the future. This role offers a flexible schedule with expected availability Monday through Friday, and weekly hours will typically range between 20–25 hours, remaining under 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities include:

Ensure all required postings and journal entries are accurate and sufficient to deliver a fully adjusted Trial Balance monthly, no later than the close of business on the third business day of the month.

Complete all monthly closing procedures, with all specified reports and supporting documentation archived.

Perform accurate and thorough monthly reconciliations of all Balance Sheet and General Ledger accounts, ensuring reconciliations clearly identify transaction details and tie to General Ledger balances.

Maintain electronic and paper accounting work papers, reports, and files in an organized manner to provide full on-demand vouching and tracing capability for all transactions; update, formalize, and file records monthly.

Maintain all books and records in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Post cash daily.

Assist in entering vendor invoices daily, within two days of receipt.

Complete projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements include:

Two years of previous Accounting experience.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred (experience considered in lieu of degree).

Exposure to Business Intelligence Software.

Strong knowledge of Accounting concepts & principles, balance sheet reconciliation, and corporate tax.

Advanced knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
