Accountant- IT

Job Title: Accountant (3–5 Years Experience)

Department: Finance & Accounts Industry: IT / Software Services

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Accountant with 3–5 years of experience in handling finance operations in an IT or service-based company. The candidate will manage billing, payroll, statutory compliance, vendor payments, and monthly financial reporting. Strong knowledge of accounting principles and experience with IT service invoicing is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

1. Billing & Revenue Management

*Prepare client invoices for IT services, AMC, support, and project milestones.

*Track revenue recognition for monthly recurring and fixed-bid projects.

*Maintain records of contracts, purchase orders, and billing cycles.

2. Accounts Payable & Receivable

*Manage vendor payments, expense claims, and reimbursement processing.

*Follow up with clients for outstanding payments (AR follow-up).

*Reconcile customer/vendor accounts regularly.

3. Financial Reporting & MIS

*Prepare monthly MIS reports, cash flow statements, and expense summaries.

*Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

*Maintain financial records and support month-end/year-end closing.

4. Banking & Reconciliation

*Perform bank reconciliation statements (BRS).

*Manage online payments, vendor settlements, and accounting entries.

5. Audit & Documentation

*Coordinate internal and statutory audits.

*Maintain proper documentation of invoices, agreements, and financial records. *Ensure compliance with accounting standards, GST regulations, and internal company policies.

6. Odoo Functional Responsibilities (Accounting Module)

*Configure and manage Odoo Accounting modules (AP, AR, GST, Invoicing,

*Payments, Journals, Reconciliation, Asset Management).

*Collaborate with the Odoo technical team for customizing workflows, reporting, and accounting automation.

*Support client onboarding, requirement gathering, implementation, UAT, and post-go-live support for Odoo.

*Train internal users and clients on the Odoo Finance module functionality.

*Perform data migration of financial records from legacy systems to Odoo.

Required Qualifications & Skills

*B.Com / M.Com / MBA Finance or equivalent.

*3–5 years of accounting experience (service-based/IT company preferred).

*Hands-on experience with Tally ERP.

*Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, and payroll compliance.

*Good Excel skills.

*Strong analytical and reporting skills.

*Ability to work independently.

*Knowledge of the Odoo Finance module will be an added advantage.
