Position Overview

The Accountant & Payroll Officer will be responsible for handling day-to-day financial activities, payroll processing, and maintaining accurate accounting records. This role requires solid knowledge of accounting principles, UAE VAT compliance, and strong experience in payroll, accounts payable/receivable, invoicing, general ledger, and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting & Finance

  • Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, trial balances, and financial statements.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Process and issue invoices accurately and on schedule.
  • Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and customer balances.
  • Monitor and manage inventory costing, adjustments, and reconciliations.
  • Ensure compliance with UAE VAT regulations, including preparation and submission of VAT returns.
  • Support external audits by providing required documentation and reports.

Payroll

  • Process monthly payroll in compliance with UAE labor laws.
  • Manage employee attendance, leave, and overtime records for payroll calculations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursements through WPS.
  • Prepare and maintain payroll reports and employee compensation records.
  • Handle end-of-service benefits and gratuity calculations.

Other Duties

  • Assist in budgeting and financial forecasting activities.
  • Maintain proper documentation for all financial transactions.
  • Support management with ad-hoc financial reports and analysis.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in accounting and payroll, preferably in Bakeries, FMCG, food production, or manufacturing.
  • Strong knowledge of UAE VAT regulations and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience with payroll systems, WPS, and HR/payroll policies.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office (Excel in particular).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and meet deadlines under pressure.
