Job Description
The Accountant/ Sr. Accountant plays a critical role in supporting the finance function and is responsible for managing end‑to‑end accounting operations, overseeing reporting cycles, maintaining accurate financial records, supporting audits, and ensuring compliance with statutory, tax, and internal control requirements. The role also ensures adherence to applicable accounting standards and local regulations. In addition, the position contributes to SAP‑related initiatives and supports both internal and external financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Financial Accounting & Bookkeeping

Maintain complete and accurate general ledger records in accordance with applicable accounting standards.

Record daily financial transactions, including journal entries, accruals, provisions, and adjustments.

Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closing activities.

Bank & Cash Management
-
Perform periodic bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.

Monitor cash flow, payments, and collections.

Maintain proper documentation for all banking transactions.

Financial Reporting
-
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts and financial statements.

Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

Provide accurate financial data and analysis to management.

Taxation & Regulatory Compliance (Pakistan)

Prepare and file sales tax, withholding tax, income tax, and other statutory returns.

Ensure compliance with federal and provincial tax laws.

Coordinate with external tax advisors and respond to regulatory notices.

Audit & Internal Controls

Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation.

Ensure adherence to company policies and internal control frameworks.

Identify control gaps and recommend process improvements.

ERP & Systems
-
Maintain financial data integrity within ERP/accounting systems.

Assist in system improvements, automation, and process optimization.

Performs other special projects as needed.
Scope
This role faces several key customers as part of both daily responsibilities and as part of project teams, including Manufacturing, Finance, Business Unit Finance and Corporate Analytical Finance.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.

Professional qualification (ACCA / CA / CMA / CPA – Part Qualified or Qualified).

3–6 years of relevant experience in accounting and taxation.

Prior experience in an audit firm is preferred.

Strong knowledge of IFRS and Pakistan tax regulations.

Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP) and advanced MS Excel skills preferred.
