JOB DESCRIBTION AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

An accountant manages, analyzes, and reports an organization's financial transactions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and financial health. Key duties include preparing financial statements (balance sheets, income statements), reconciling bank accounts, conducting audits, managing budgets, and filing tax returns in compliance with regulations. They provide insights to management for data-driven decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting: Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (income statements, balance sheets) in accordance with GAAP.

Account Reconciliation: Reviewing and reconciling bank statements, general ledgers, and accounts payable/receivable.

Tax Compliance: Calculating, preparing, and filing tax returns, ensuring compliance with local and federal regulations.

Auditing and Analysis: Examining financial records for accuracy, identifying errors, conducting internal audits, and assessing financial risk.

Budgeting and Forecasting: Assisting with budget preparation, monitoring cash flows, and analyzing financial trends.

Advisory: Providing recommendations to management regarding cost reduction, revenue enhancement, and financial strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.

Certification: CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or CMA (Certified Management Accountant) preferred.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage) and advanced Excel skills.

Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) or IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards).

Soft Skills: High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, integrity, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
