- Manage and report on the company's financial information, including bookkeeping, financial statements, and budgets.
- Ensure accuracy and compliance with all relevant accounting and tax regulations.
- Provide financial insights to support strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities
- Bookkeeping and record-keeping:
- Record daily transactions, including invoices, payments, and expense reports.
- Maintain and update the general ledger and other accounting databases.
- Ensure all financial records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Financial reporting:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (e.g., profit & loss, balance sheets, cash flow statements).
- Compile and present financial reports to management.
- Reconciliation and compliance:
- Perform bank and account reconciliations.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances.
- Ensure compliance with company, local, state, and federal financial regulations.
- Tax and payroll:
- Prepare and file tax returns.
- Process payroll and manage expense reimbursements.
- Analysis and forecasting:
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and cost-saving opportunities.
- Assist with financial forecasting and risk analysis.
Qualifications and skills
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills for interacting with management and clients.
- Knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
