Hershey Accounting & Tax Group, a woman-owned virtual CPA and advisory firm, is seeking an experienced Part-Time Accountant and Tax Preparer to support our growing business-focused practice. We work exclusively with businesses and their owners, providing high-quality tax preparation, bookkeeping support, and advisory services in a modern, paperless environment.

This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys accurate, efficient tax preparation and light bookkeeping work within a flexible remote schedule.

About the Role

The Part-Time Tax Preparer will assist with preparation of individual and business tax returns, help maintain client books, and support smooth client communication throughout the year. Hours are flexible, with additional availability needed during tax season.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare individual and business tax returns (1040, 1120S, 1120, 1065)
• Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks (bank reconciliations, coding transactions, financials cleanup)
• Request and organize client documents
• Maintain accurate workpapers and follow firm procedures
• Support tax notices and basic research as needed
• Work within a cloud-based, paperless workflow

Qualifications

Required:

• 5+ years of recent tax preparation experience
• Experience with bookkeeping and accounting fundamentals
• Strong accuracy, organization, and attention to detail
• Comfort with cloud-based systems and remote communication
• Ability to follow standardized processes and meet deadlines

Preferred:

• Experience with UltraTax and/or Canopy
• Familiarity with small business accounting
• Nonprofit (Form 990) experience a plus

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
