The Role: Accounting Account Manager
In this role, you will oversee bookkeepers’ work, manage client accounts, review and analyze financials, and serve as a primary point of contact for client communication. This is a client-facing position for someone with a strong accounting background who can help elevate our team and support our continued growth.
The role is fully remote with a flexible schedule, with some overlap required during core business hours.

This role is a mix of:
● Client relationship management
● Reviewing and overseeing bookkeeping work
● Higher-level accounting execution
● Training and mentoring bookkeepers
You will play a key role in ensuring our clients receive accurate, timely, and high-quality financials while also helping us build better systems and workflows internally.
Responsibilities:
● Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, enhancing client satisfaction by identifying opportunities to improve services, introduce additional offerings, and streamline processes
● Review and ensure accuracy of bookkeeping completed by the bookkeeping team and identify and resolve discrepancies
● Provide clear, constructive feedback to improve quality and efficiency to the bookkeeping team
● Perform higher-level accounting tasks, including accruals and prepaids, intercompany transactions, depreciation and adjustments
● Oversee and support: Payroll processing, sales tax filings, and Inventory accounting
● Implement quality control processes to ensure financial records are accurate and complete, while identifying inefficiencies and proactively improving workflows
● Oversee month-end close and financial reporting and ensure bookkeeping team is on time and accurate
● Attend meetings with clients and team via Zoom and phone
● Help clients understand their numbers (not just receive them) by identifying key insights, trends, and opportunities, and highlighting meaningful performance indicators
● Train and mentor bookkeeping staff
● Create and document internal SOPs and best practices
● Create budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Tech Stack (Experience Strongly Preferred)
● QuickBooks Online (required)
● Gusto or QuickBooks Payroll
● SOS Inventory (or similar inventory systems)
● Google Workspace
● Asana or similar task management tools
● Slack
● Loom
Qualifications:
● 3–5+ years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting in a client facing accounting firm environment
● Background as a Senior Bookkeeper, Senior Accountant, or Account Manager
● Experience guiding others with a focus on constructive feedback and positive reinforcement
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
● Hands-on experience with payroll, sales tax, and inventory accounting
● A computer with stable and secure internet connection
● Technology savvy, with an ability to learn new software quickly
● A quiet workspace suitable for client and team meetings
● Confident communicator with strong written and verbal English skills
● Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive
Nice-to-Haves:
● QuickBooks Online Certification
● ERP / Inventory Management Software Experience
● Budgeting & Forecasting Experience
Compensation & Structure: Full Time
● $60K to $70K (based on experience)
● Full-Time: 40 hours a week
● Health Insurance & 401K
● Fully remote with flexible hours
● Must have at least 5 hours of overlap with business hours (8am–5pm CST)
