Accounting Analyst (Associate Development Program)

Monthend is the most tech forward and “tech enabled” construction accounting & technology firm in the U.S. We are growing very fast, making this an opportunity to be part of something awesome.

We are looking for an energetic Accounting Analyst to support and expand our accounting services and technology offerings. Monthend focuses on the accounting and software needs of builders, remodelers, and commercial contractors. You will start as an analyst; as you develop skills, you will advance - into a small business consultant.

This role is intentionally designed as a launch point for accelerated career growth within Monthend.

This is a full-time position.

In this position, you will:

  • Work with the Monthend team to manage day-to-day transactions for our clients using Monthend proprietary technology along with QuickBooks Online, Buildertrend, and a variety of other construction management and software tools. You will work across multiple systems and learn how data flows between them.
  • Process customer source documents (paperless) by reviewing data for deficiencies. This work goes beyond data entry and requires attention to detail, judgment, and problem-solving.
  • Resolve deficiencies by using standard procedures or by communicating with the client for resolution
  • Enter and create financial records and transactions, and validatethe accuracy of records across multiple platforms while learning how transactional accuracy supports higher-level financial reporting and advisory work.
  • Support Associates and Managers in a variety of tasks and progressively take on more complex responsibilities as your skills develop.
  • Generate reports for clients and Monthend management and learn how those reports are used to help clients make better business decisions.
  • Demonstrate growth in accounting judgment, system fluency, and client understanding over time, with clear opportunities to advance into senior accounting and advisory roles.

Requirements

  • Must be competent and efficient with technology. We will train you on the basics of the software we use, but you must have the foundational navigational skills that are universal across most software applications. You must be tech-minded, curious, and comfortable learning new systems quickly.
  • Willingness to learn. We are constantly changing, and you need to learn and adapt. The most successful people at Monthend actively seek out feedback and new challenges.
  • Be willing to solve problems on your own, but also eager to ask questions to make sure you “get it right”. We value accuracy over speed.
  • Completion of a 2-year degree in business, accounting, or related/similar field OR a 4-year degree in any subject. Prior accounting or bookkeeping experience is strongly preferred, as it enables faster growth within the role.
  • Must submit to a background check, confidentially processed by a third party.

What Success Looks Like in the First 6–12 Months

By the 3–6 month mark, a successful Accounting Analyst will:

  • Independently process day-to-day transactions for a defined group of clients with a high level of accuracy.
  • Demonstrate strong fluency in Monthend’s technology stack, including QuickBooks Online, Buildertrend, and internal tools.
  • Identify common data issues or inconsistencies and resolve them efficiently using established workflows
  • Ask thoughtful questions and proactively seek clarification to ensure work is done correctly the first time.
  • Consistently meet deadlines and maintain high standards for data quality and documentation.

By the 6–12 month mark, a high-performer will:

  • Handle increasingly complex transactions and edge cases with minimal oversight
  • Understand how transactional work rolls up into financial statements and client reporting
  • Anticipate issues before they become problems and proactively flag them to Associates or Managers
  • Begin contributing to process improvements and identifying opportunities to make Monthend’s systems and workflows more efficient
  • Demonstrate readiness for expanded responsibility, including deeper client exposure and a path toward senior accounting or advisory roles

This role is ideal for someone who wants more than repetitive bookkeeping and is excited by the opportunity to grow quickly in responsibility, impact, and career trajectory.

Compensation

$23.00 – $25.00/hr+, depending on qualifications, with meaningful opportunities for advancement and compensation growth as responsibilities increase.
