Mission Ranch is seeking an Accounting Assistant to support our restaurant, hotel, and membership operations. This position assists with daily accounting processes, maintains accurate financial records, and supports office administration. The ideal candidate will preferably have hands-on experience using Sage accounting software, strong Microsoft Excel skills, and the ability and desire to thrive in a professional and dynamic hospitality environment.
Responsibilities

Support the day-to-day operations and administration of the Accounting Department

Enter accounts payable invoices daily into the correct general ledger (G/L) accounts

Prepare and process vendor payments in accordance with company policy and payment schedules
-
Record daily sales for all departments in Sage, or any other accounting software the company may use

Process and apply incoming payments to the appropriate accounts
-
Complete daily bank deposits and maintain deposit documentation
-
Assist with A/P and A/R management, including data entry and billing
-
Reconcile bank statements and assist with month-end allocations and closing
-
Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for all accounting documents

Generate and utilize accounting and billing reports for management review

Run daily reports and balance daily sales receipts for all departments

Maintain and reconcile change funds for restaurant and hotel operations

Professionally answer and direct incoming calls for the restaurant and office

Receive and log deliveries, ensuring invoices are coded and routed properly

Order and maintain office supplies, restaurant uniforms, and gift card inventory

Process phone and in-person orders for gift cards and hotel amenities

Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Proficiency in Sage and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, and reconciliations)

Ability to work independently, set priorities, and meet deadlines

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Analytical skills with the ability to research and resolve discrepancies

Capability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment

A professional and cooperative approach is taken when interacting with vendors, employees, and guests

Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and accuracy in all work

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing, to perform essential job functions (e.g., financial data entry, correspondence, and vendor communication)
Education and Experience

High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Minimum two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; hospitality industry experience preferred

Coursework or certification in Accounting or Business Administration is a plus

Familiarity with hotel or restaurant accounting systems preferred
Physical Requirements

The position involves regular communication, data entry, and computer use

May occasionally require lifting or moving office supplies or equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation
