Base Pay Range: $46,000 - $48,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting Assistant to provide direct support to the Accounting Specialist in the daily operations of the accounting department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring financial processes run smoothly, accurately, and on time. The Accounting Assistant works closely with the Accounting Specialist to maintain organized records, process transactions, and resolve discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day administrative and transactional support to the accounting specialist
• Assist with accounts payable, including invoice review, coding, data entry, and payment preparation
• Support payroll processing by posting and verifying employee timesheets
• Assist with accounts receivable, including monitoring aging reports and contacting customers regarding past-due invoices
• Maintain accurate and organized financial records
• Identify discrepancies and proactively research and resolve issues
• Communicate with internal team members to gather information and ensure accuracy

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online is required.
• 2+ years of prior accounting or bookkeeping experience, preferably in a construction or subcontracting environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and document management systems
• Excellent attention to detail and time management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and collaborate with leadership
• Quick to learn new accounting software
