<Responsibilities>
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records within accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or Workday
- Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and account analysis to verify accuracy of financial data
- Prepare journal entries and support general ledger accounting activities in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
- Support payroll management tasks using systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro, including time tracking and payroll processing
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliation and financial statement preparation
- Contribute to internal audits by providing documentation related to SOX compliance and governmental accounting standards
- Support budgeting efforts and financial reporting initiatives for various departments or projects
<Skills>
- Strong understanding of corporate accounting principles, GAAP, and governmental accounting standards
- Experience with financial software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, PeopleSoft, Ceridian, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of payroll management systems like ADP, Paychex, Kronos, or UltiPro
- Proficiency in data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, and 10-key typing skills for efficient record keeping
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and account reconciliation techniques
- Ability to analyze financial data accurately and perform account analysis with attention to detail
- Basic understanding of tax regulations related to non-profit or corporate entities
- Strong math skills combined with excellent organizational abilities for bookkeeping and journal entries
- Experience working in public accounting or supporting financial services is a plus
- Knowledge of technical accounting concepts such as debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and financial concepts
