Accounting Assistant for a Travel Company

Summary:

Responsibilites:

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions using in house and accounting software.
  • Perform bank reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, and account analysis to verify financial accuracy.
  • Enter data meticulously into financial systems bill.com and others.
  • Assist with payroll management tasks including processing payroll while ensuring compliance with tax regulations and payroll laws.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing procedures by preparing journal entries and reviewing general ledger accounts in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).
  • Conduct detailed account reconciliation activities for accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other ledger accounts to ensure consistency and accuracy.

Skills:

  • Associate or Bachelors in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles including GAAP and governmental accounting standards.
  • Experience with Quickbooks online.
  • Familiarity with payroll systems and processes.
  • Proficiency in data entry, double-entry bookkeeping, journal entries, and account reconciliation processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel.
  • Understanding of financial concepts including debits & credits, balance sheet reconciliation, account analysis, budgeting and credit analysis.
  • Knowledge of tax regulations and experience with tax-related accounting activities.
  • Excellent math skills along with strong attention to detail for accurate financial data entry and analysis.
