Accounting Assistant II

SALARY

  • Range 67 ($35,625.60 to $59,572.80 annually).
  • Salary will be commensurate with experience. Limitations apply to current State employees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Graduation from a standard senior high school. 24 months or more responsible clerical accounting experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collates and audits purchase orders, non-purchase order payments and contracts daily.
  • Gathers documentation to support the preparation of account payable for transmittal to the Central Office within 5 days of receipt.
  • Communicates with vendors and Central Office regarding problems with invoices and requesting additional information as necessary.
  • Codes Information into account payable system daily and submit invoices by due date.
  • Maintains suspense files for purchase orders and paid out files for vouchers.
  • Carries out hospital directives and priorities, as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Ensures that the accounts payable unit always follow Bryce Hospital standards.

KSAs

  • Knowledge of Accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of billing practices and generating payment vouchers.
  • Knowledge of computer programs and various software.
  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Ability to reconcile purchase requisitions.
  • Ability to prepare, create, and disseminate data.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
  • Ability to multi-task functions.
  • Ability to make arithmetic calculations with reasonable speed and accuracy.
  • Ability to establish priorities and coordinate work activities of others.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing..
