Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant Manager to join our financial team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee key accounting functions, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and support the organization’s financial health through accurate reporting and effective management of accounting processes. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise daily accounting activities including general ledger accounting, account reconciliation, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll processing.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards such as GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles), IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards), SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley Act), and other regulatory requirements.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliation processes to verify accuracy of financial statements and identify discrepancies promptly.
- Manage cash flow forecasting, cash management activities, and assist in budgeting efforts to support organizational financial planning.
- Prepare detailed financial reports, analysis, and commentary for internal stakeholders and external regulatory reporting purposes.
- Support technical accounting functions including complex transactions, non-profit accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, and corporate accounting policies.
- Collaborate with external auditors during audits and ensure all documentation is complete for compliance reviews.
- Utilize various financial software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial data management.
Skills
- Strong understanding of GAAP, IFRS, SOX compliance, and governmental or non-profit accounting standards.
- Proven experience in financial report writing, account reconciliation, balance sheet management, and account analysis.
- Proficiency with accounting software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other relevant platforms.
- Excellent knowledge of double entry bookkeeping principles, debits & credits, general ledger reconciliation, and technical accounting concepts.
- Skilled in cash management strategies, budgeting processes, forecasting techniques, and financial analysis to support sound decision-making.
- Ability to interpret complex financial data accurately while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
